The Best of Nepal Tour is designed for travellers who want to see the country’s most famous destinations without committing to long treks or challenging physical activities. In eleven days, you will experience the cultural heritage of the Kathmandu Valley, the majesty of Mount Everest from a helicopter, the tranquil beauty of Pokhara, the preserved Newa town of Bandipur and the wild jungles of Chitwan National Park.
This tour is for first-time visitors, for families, for seniors and for anyone who wants a complete picture of what Nepal has to offer. You do not need to be a trekker. You do not need to be extremely fit. You just need to be ready for adventure and open to new experiences.
Your journey begins in Kathmandu, the capital city, where ancient temples and stupas stand next to modern shops and restaurants. From there, you fly by helicopter to the Everest region, landing at 5,545 meters for a close-up view of the world’s highest mountain. Then you fly to Pokhara, the city of lakes, where you boat on Phewa Lake and watch the sunset behind the Annapurna range. You drive to the hilltop town of Bandipur, a hidden gem with traditional Newa architecture and stunning mountain views. You descend to the lowlands of Chitwan for a jungle safari where you search for one-horned rhinos and crocodiles. You return to Kathmandu for shopping, rest and a farewell dinner.
This is not a rushed tour. We have built in rest days and free time. We have balanced long drive days with relaxing evenings. We want you to come home feeling refreshed, not exhausted.

You will visit three UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Kathmandu Valley. At Patan Durbar Square, you will see the finest Newa architecture in the country. At Boudhanath, you will walk around one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, spinning prayer wheels and watching monks in meditation. At Pashupatinath, you will observe Hindu cremation ceremonies on the banks of the Bagmati River. Your guide will explain the meaning behind every ritual and monument. This is not just sightseeing. This is a deep dive into Nepali culture and religion.

You do not need to trek for two weeks to see Mount Everest up close. On day three, you take a helicopter from Kathmandu directly to the Everest region. You land at Kalapatthar, a viewpoint at 5,545 meters. From here, Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam surround you. Then you fly to the Everest View Hotel for breakfast with the highest mountain in the world right in front of you. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Your safety is our first priority. The helicopter tour is weather-dependent. If cancelled, we will reschedule or provide a partial refund.
After the mountains, you fly to Pokhara for a slower pace. You boat on the calm waters of Phewa Lake, watching the reflection of Machhapuchhare mountain, also known as Fishtail Mountain, shimmer in the water. You hike up to the World Peace Pagoda, a forty-five-minute walk through the forest with stunning views of the Annapurna range. You visit Devi’s Fall, where water crashes into a deep underground gorge. You explore Gupteshwor Cave, a dark cavern with a natural Shiva lingam. The International Mountain Museum tells the story of the Himalayas and the climbers who have tried to conquer them. This is a great place to rest and take in the beauty of Nepal at a relaxed pace.

Most tourists skip Bandipur. You will not. This preserved Newa town sits on a ridge at 1,030 meters. The main street is lined with traditional houses featuring carved wooden windows. There are no crowds. There are no traffic jams. You walk to Tundikhel, an open field that serves as the town’s viewpoint and watch the sunset over the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. This is Nepal as it used to be.

You descend from the hills to the lowland Terai region. The landscape changes. The temperature warms. The sounds of birds and insects replace the sounds of mountain wind. You spend a full day inside Chitwan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You take a canoe ride on the Rapti River, watching marsh crocodiles sunbathe on the riverbanks. You walk through the forest with an armed naturalist guide who points out animal tracks, bird calls and medicinal plants.
You go on a jeep safari into the deeper parts of the park, searching for one-horned rhinos. If you are very lucky, you may see a Bengal tiger, though sightings are rare. In the evening, you watch the Tharu cultural dance, a joyful performance of sticks and drums. This is a rewarding experience that connects you to Nepal’s rich wildlife and indigenous culture.

All your ground transportation is by private tourist vehicle. You do not share with strangers. You do not wait for other groups. Your driver is experienced with Nepali roads. The drives on day six, day seven and day nine are long, but we have built rest stops into the journey. Bring water, snacks and music for the road.
Your guides are licensed by the Nepal government. They speak fluent English. They know the history, culture and nature of every place you visit. In Chitwan, your naturalist guide is trained in wildlife tracking and jungle safety. An armed forest guard joins you during the jungle walk. Your safety is our first priority. Don’t panic, stay calm. Our team is with you every step of the way.

This tour runs year-round, but each season offers a different experience.
Spring, from March to May, is one of the best times. Daytime temperatures are pleasant between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. The skies are clear for mountain views from the helicopter and from Pokhara. In Kathmandu and Chitwan, the weather is warm but not too hot.
Autumn, from September to November, is also excellent. The monsoon rains have washed the air clean, so visibility is at its best. Temperatures are similar to spring. This is the most popular time for tourists, so you will see more travellers on the roads and at the sights.
Winter, from December to February, is cold in Kathmandu and Pokhara, especially in the mornings and evenings. Daytime temperatures are still comfortable for sightseeing. The helicopter flight will be very cold at high altitude, so dress warmly. Chitwan remains pleasant. The skies are mostly clear. Fewer tourists mean less crowded attractions.
The summer monsoon from June to August is the rainy season. You will experience daily rain, especially in the afternoons. The mountain views may be blocked by clouds. However, Chitwan is lush and green. The jungle is at its most vibrant. The waterfalls are full. Prices are lower. If you do not mind rain, this can still be a rewarding time to visit.
No matter when you come, pack layers. Mornings are cold. Afternoons are warm. And the helicopter at 5,500 meters is always cold.

We have been organising tours and treks in Nepal for over a decade. Our team knows these destinations intimately. We do not outsource your tour to another company. You will be in our hands from arrival to departure.
We use private vehicles for all ground transportation. No waiting for other tourists. No crowded buses. Just you, your group and your driver.
We offer personalised service. If you want to change something, just ask. We can customise this itinerary to fit your needs.
We are available 24 hours a day during your tour. If you have any questions, problems, or emergencies, you can reach us by phone or WhatsApp at any time.

This eleven-day journey takes you through three distinct regions of Nepal. You will experience the culturally rich Kathmandu Valley, the majestic Himalayas from a helicopter, the tranquil lakes and mountains of Pokhara, the vibrant Newa town of Bandipur and the wild jungles of Chitwan National Park.
Each region offers something completely different. Together, they give you a complete picture of what Nepal has to offer

The tour begins in Kathmandu with visits to three UNESCO World Heritage sites. Patan Durbar Square shows you the finest Newa architecture with its ancient royal palace and temples. Boudhanath Stupa surrounds you with Tibetan Buddhist culture as monks and pilgrims walk around the massive white dome spinning prayer wheels. Pashupatinath Temple introduces you to Hindu rituals and beliefs as you watch ceremonies on the banks of the Bagmati River.
Then comes the highlight for many travelers. On day three, you take a helicopter to the Everest region. You do not need to trek for two weeks. You do not need to worry about altitude sickness. You simply fly.
The helicopter lands at Kalapatthar, where you stand at 5,545 meters looking directly at Mount Everest. Then you fly to the Everest View Hotel for breakfast with the highest mountain in the world right in front of you. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that most travellers only dream about.
From the mountains, you fly to Pokhara. The flight itself gives you stunning views of the Himalayan range. In Pokhara, you slow down. You boat on Phewa Lake with the reflection of Machhapuchhare mountain in the water. You hike up to the World Peace Pagoda, where the sunset view over the Annapurna range is unforgettable.

You spend a full day visiting viewpoints, caves, waterfalls and the fascinating International Mountain Museum. This is a great place to rest and take in the beauty of Nepal at a relaxed pace.
Then you drive to Bandipur. This small hill town feels like stepping back in time. The main street is lined with traditional Newa houses with carved wooden windows. The views from Tundikhel at sunset are breathtaking. Fewer tourists come here, so you get a more authentic experience of rural Nepali life.
From Bandipur, you descend to the lowlands of Chitwan. The landscape changes dramatically from green hills to flat Terai jungle. The temperature gets warmer. The sounds of birds and insects replace the sound of the mountain wind. You spend a full day inside Chitwan National Park.
You walk through the forest with an armed naturalist guide who points out animal tracks and bird calls. You go on a jeep safari into the deeper parts of the park searching for one horned rhinos. In the evening, you watch the Tharu cultural dance. This is a rewarding experience that connects you to Nepal’s rich wildlife and indigenous culture.
The tour ends back in Kathmandu with a free day for shopping and relaxation. You can wander through Thamel buying pashminas, singing bowls and souvenirs. You can book a massage at one of the many spas. In the evening, a farewell dinner with Nepali cultural performance celebrates your journey.

11 Days
Easy
This is not a trekking package. There is no multi-day walking at high altitude. However, you should still be prepared for some physical activity.
You will walk during the sightseeing tours in Kathmandu and Pokhara. You will walk for about two to three hours total each day on these days. The terrain is mostly flat with some stairs, especially at Pashupatinath and the World Peace Pagoda.
The hike to World Peace Pagoda in Pokhara takes about forty-five minutes to an hour uphill on a trail with stairs. This is the most physically challenging part of the tour. If you are worried about the hike, you can also reach the pagoda by vehicle for an additional cost. Ask our team for details.
The jungle walk in Chitwan is on flat ground. Your naturalist guide will lead you slowly and stop frequently to point out animals and plants. You can rest whenever you need to.
Bring comfortable walking shoes. Bring a hat and sunscreen for the daytime heat. Bring a light jacket for the helicopter morning and the evenings in Pokhara and Bandipur.

Most days on this tour follow a similar routine. You wake up and have breakfast at your hotel between 7 and 8 AM. Then you meet your guide and start your activities for the day. On sightseeing days, you will be out for about 7 hours with a break for lunch. On drive days, you will spend four to six hours in the vehicle with stops along the way.
Evenings are usually free. You can explore the local area, have dinner at a restaurant of your choice or simply rest at your hotel.
Your safety is our first priority. Throughout this tour, you will have different team members taking care of you.
In Kathmandu and Pokhara, you will have an experienced English-speaking tour guide. Your guide is licensed by the Nepal government and has deep knowledge of Nepali history, culture, religion and nature.
In Chitwan, the jungle activities are led by naturalist guides who are trained in wildlife tracking and jungle safety. An armed forest guard will join you during the jungle walk.
Your drivers are experienced with Nepal’s roads and traffic.
Day Highlights
Your adventure in Nepal begins as you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. From the airport, you will be transferred to your hotel in a private tourist vehicle. The drive takes about thirty minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the hotel, you can check in, freshen up and rest after your flight.
In the afternoon, you will have a pre trip meeting at our office or at your hotel. During this meeting, your tour guide will be introduced to you. This is the perfect time to ask any questions you have about the upcoming days. Please bring your passport, two copies of passport sized photos and a copy of your travel insurance policy if you have not already sent it by email. You will also need to sign the trip form and the non liability disclaimer.
After the meeting, you have the evening free to explore Thamel, the tourist hub of Kathmandu. You can find restaurants serving both international and local Nepali cuisine. You can also do some last-minute shopping for anything you might need for the tour.
Practical Tips

Day Highlights
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide and private vehicle will pick you up for a full day of sightseeing in the Kathmandu Valley.
Your first stop is Patan Durbar Square. Patan is one of the three royal cities in the valley and is known for its fine Newa architecture. You will see the ancient royal palace, the Krishna Mandir temple and numerous other temples and courtyards. The square is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is filled with intricate wood and stone carvings. Your guide will explain the history and significance of each monument.
Next, you will drive to Boudhanath Stupa. This is one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. You will see the massive white dome with the all seeing eyes of Buddha painted on all four sides. The area around Boudhanath is filled with monasteries, shops selling Tibetan crafts and rooftop cafes where you can rest and take in the views.
Your final stop of the day is Pashupatinath Temple. This is the most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple complex sits on the banks of the Bagmati River. As a non Hindu, you cannot enter the main temple, but you can view it from across the river. You will see sadhus or holy men, meditating on the steps. You may also observe cremation ceremonies taking place on the river banks. These ceremonies are a normal part of life and death in Nepal. Your guide will explain the rituals and beliefs associated with this sacred site.
After the tour, you will be driven back to your hotel. The evening is free for you to rest or explore more of Kathmandu on your own.
Practical Tips
Important Note: Photography is not allowed inside the main temple area at Pashupatinath. Respect the rules and the privacy of grieving families during cremation ceremonies.

This is a shared helicopter experience with other travelers. For detailed information about this specific tour, please visit our dedicated Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour package page.

The flight offers stunning views of the Himalayan range, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and many other peaks.
The helicopter will land at Kalapatthar or at Everest Base Camp, depending on weather conditions and aviation regulations. Kalapatthar is a famous viewpoint at 5,545 meters. Your next stop is the Everest View Hotel, one of the highest placed hotels in the world. You will be served breakfast here while looking directly at Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. The view from this hotel is considered one of the best in the entire region.
After breakfast, you will fly back to Kathmandu. The entire experience takes about three to four hours from pick up to drop off.
Practical Tips
Day Highlights
After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Kathmandu airport for your flight to Pokhara. The flight takes about twenty-five minutes. On a clear day, you will see the Himalayan range, including Manaslu, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri from the window of the plane.
Once you arrive in Pokhara, our local representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel by private vehicle. Check in and take some time to settle in.
In the afternoon, you will head to Phewa Lake, the second-largest lake in Nepal. You will go boating on the calm waters of the lake. From the middle of the lake, you can see the reflection of Machhapuchhare mountain, also known as Fishtail Mountain and the Annapurna range in the water. The view is unforgettable.
After boating, you will take a short hike up to the World Peace Pagoda. The hike takes about forty-five minutes to an hour. The trail goes through the forest with views of the lake and mountains along the way. At the top, you will find a large white Buddhist stupa built by Japanese monks. The pagoda is a symbol of peace and offers a panoramic view of Pokhara Valley, Phewa Lake and the entire Annapurna range, including Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Machhapuchhare.
If you time your hike correctly, you will reach the pagoda around sunset. The golden light on the mountains is a beautiful reward after the climb. You will then hike back down to the lakeside and return to your hotel.
Practical Tips
Important Note: The hike to World Peace Pagoda involves walking up a hill with stairs. Take your time. Rest when you need to. This is a great place to go at your own pace. Your guide will wait for you.
Day Highlights
After breakfast at your hotel, your guide and private vehicle will pick you up for a full day of sightseeing around Pokhara Valley.
Pokhara is known for its stunning natural beauty, with the Annapurna range rising behind the city and Phewa Lake at its centre. Your guide will take you to the most scenic and culturally important spots in and around the city. The exact locations may vary depending on your interests, the weather and the time available. This flexibility allows your guide to avoid crowds, adjust for weather conditions and focus on what interests you most.
That said, here are some of the places your guide may include in your sightseeing tour.
You may visit Sarangkot, a hilltop viewpoint that offers a panoramic view of the entire Annapurna range. Many travellers enjoy coming here in the morning to see the sunrise over the mountains. If you choose to go here, your guide will wake you early because the view is worth it.
Note: The sunrise at Sarangkot happens very early. If you are going, your guide will confirm the pick-up time the night before. Do not be late. The view is worth the early wake-up.
You may visit Devi’s Fall, a unique waterfall where water crashes into a deep underground gorge and disappears. The sound of the falling water is powerful and mesmerising. Right next to it is Gupteshwor Cave, a sacred cave with a natural Shiva lingam. The cave is dark and narrow in places, so your guide will lead you carefully.
You may visit the Seti River Gorge, where the river has cut a deep canyon through the center of Pokhara city. You can see the white water rushing far below from a bridge viewpoint.
You may visit Bindhyabasini Temple, one of the oldest temples in Pokhara. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is an important pilgrimage site for local people. The temple sits on a small hill and offers a nice view of the city.
You may visit the International Mountain Museum, which tells the story of the Himalayas, the people who live there and the climbers who have attempted to summit the peaks. You will see exhibits about the history of mountaineering, the culture of the Sherpa people and the flora and fauna of the mountain regions.
Your guide will work with you to decide which of these places fit best into your day. Some travelers prefer a relaxed pace with fewer stops. Others want to see as much as possible. This is your tour. Your guide will adjust accordingly.
After the tour, you will be driven back to your hotel. The evening is free for you to rest or explore the lakeside area on your own.
Practical Tips
Day Highlights
After breakfast at your hotel, you will check out and begin your drive from Pokhara to Bandipur. The drive takes approximately three to four hours along the Prithvi Highway. Your private vehicle will take you through the countryside with views of green hills, terraced farmlands and small villages along the way.
Bandipur is a traditional Newa hill town perched on a ridge at an altitude of about 1,030 meters. It is known for its preserved architecture, cobbled streets and stunning mountain views. Unlike Pokhara and Kathmandu, Bandipur sees fewer tourists, which gives it a quieter and more relaxed atmosphere.
Upon arrival in Bandipur, you will check into your hotel. Take some time to rest and freshen up.
In the afternoon, you can explore the main street of Bandipur on foot. The street is lined with traditional Newa houses with carved wooden windows. You can visit the Bindabasini Temple, a small hilltop temple with panoramic views of the Annapurna and Manaslu ranges. If you are feeling energetic, you can walk up to the Bandipur viewpoint or Tundikhel, a large open field that was once used as a helipad. From here, you can watch the sunset over the Himalayas.
Your guide will walk with you and explain the history of the town. The evening is free for you to enjoy dinner at one of the local restaurants or at your hotel.
Practical Tips
Note: Bandipur is a small town with limited restaurant options. Your guide will recommend the best places to eat. If you have specific dietary needs, inform your guide in advance.
Day Highlights
After breakfast at your hotel in Bandipur, you will check out and begin your drive to Chitwan. The drive takes approximately four to five hours. You will descend from the hills of Bandipur down to the lowland Terai region of Nepal. As you drive, you will notice the landscape changing from green hills and forests to flat farmlands and jungle.
The temperature also changes as you lose altitude. Chitwan is warmer than the hills, especially in the middle of the day.
Upon arrival in Chitwan, you will check into your jungle resort. The resort is located near the edge of Chitwan National Park. Take some time to rest and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
In the late afternoon, you will have a briefing about the jungle activities planned for the next day. The resort staff will explain what to expect, what to wear and what to bring. This is also a good time to ask any questions you have about the national park and the animals you might see.
The evening is free at the resort. You can walk around the property, listen to the sounds of the jungle or simply relax before the busy day ahead.
Practical Tips
Note: Chitwan might have some mosquitoes. So, we recommend using insect repellent and wearing long sleeves and pants during jungle activities. Your safety is our first priority.
Day Highlights
Today is a full day of jungle activities inside Chitwan National Park. The national park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including one-horned rhinos, Bengal tigers, elephants, crocodiles, deer, monkeys and over five hundred species of birds.
Your day will start early. Before breakfast, you will go on a morning bird-watching walk or an elephant briefing session, depending on the resort schedule. The early morning is the best time to see birds and animals before the heat of the day.
After breakfast, you will go on a canoe ride on the Rapti River. You will sit in a traditional dugout canoe and float slowly down the river. Along the riverbanks, you will see marsh crocodiles basking in the sun and gharials, a fish-eating crocodile with a long, thin snout. You will also see many species of water birds.
After the canoe ride, you will take a short jungle walk with an armed naturalist guide. The walk takes you through the forest where you may see deer, monkeys and rhino footprints. Your guide will point out different trees, plants and animal signs.
You will return to the resort for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go on a jeep safari into the deeper parts of the national park. The safari lasts about three to four hours. You will drive through grasslands and forests searching for wildlife. This is your best chance to see a one-horned rhino. If you are very lucky, you may see a Bengal tiger, though tiger sightings are rare.
Note:
The full day of jungle activities on Day Eight is organised by the resort based on weather, park schedules and wildlife movement. The order of activities may change. You might do the jeep safari in the morning and the canoe ride in the afternoon. This is normal. Your resort guide will give you the exact schedule the evening before.
Also, you may not see a tiger as tiger sightings are very rare. Most visitors see rhinos, crocodiles, deer and many birds, which are already a rewarding experience.
In the evening, you will watch a Tharu cultural dance performance. The Tharu people are the indigenous community of the Terai region. The dancers perform traditional stick dances and other folk dances accompanied by drums and singing. The performance is energetic and joyful.
After the dance, you will return to your resort for dinner and an overnight stay.
Practical Tips
Day Highlights
After breakfast at your jungle resort, you will check out and begin your drive back to Kathmandu. The drive takes approximately five to six hours. You will travel from the lowland Terai region back up into the hills towards the Kathmandu Valley.
The drive follows the same route you took on day seven but in reverse. You will pass through small towns, riverside villages and scenic countryside. You can stop along the way for lunch at a local restaurant.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will check back into your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to rest after the long drive. You can also go for a walk in Thamel or simply relax at the hotel.
Practical Tips
Note: The road from Chitwan to Kathmandu can have traffic jams, especially near the city. Do not worry if the drive takes longer than expected. Your driver knows the road well and will get you there safely.
Day Highlights

If you prefer to relax, you can book a massage or spa treatment at one of the many spas in Thamel. Traditional Ayurvedic massages are available and are a good way to unwind after your tour.
