Short Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts from Nayapul on the trail through beautiful rice, maize, and millet around farm villages. The main trail leads to the beautiful village of Birethanti and then reaches Saulibazaar. Located on the bank of Modi River, as walk progress towards Annapurna Base Camp. Having a refreshing stop at Siwai which eventually leads us to beautiful Ghandruk village for overnight.

As the sun peeks out from the majestic mountains, with views of sun rays that shine and reflect on the snow Mountain range of Annapurna range of peaks. Walk down and climb up to Kimrung-Danda. A steep descent takes us toward the Kimrong Khola. Another steep ascent from Kimrong Khola, then a gentle walk to Chomrong. A beautiful and last permanent Gurung village, the gateway to Annapurna base camp and sanctuary. Located on the lap of the giant Annapurna massive.

From Chomrong descend on 2, 500 stone steps and cross over a bridge above Chomrong Khola. From here climb takes you to Sinuwa a small settlement, and then through a beautiful forest to reach Kuldihar. From here an easy downhill to a place called Bamboo, and then slowly climb through the cool shade of the forest. Lined with dense bamboo and rhododendron tree lines.

Ascends steadily with a few steep sections to reach a small area called Himalaya Hotel. Where tree lines stop heading into an exposed and open area out in the sun again. Facing astounding views of high peaks and the glacial Modi River below. It is a steep climb up through a much drier forest before reaching Hinku Cave. The vegetation gets sparse, allowing magical views of the valley within sheer high rocky cliffs above with bands of wispy waterfalls.

As walk head to your dream destination towards Annapurna Base Camp and the scenic sanctuary. The climb continues gently through a river bed then over a steep trail over towards a mountainside. The hike from a place called Bagar to Machhapuchare Base Camp is somewhat strenuous. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna-I, Annapurna-III, Gandharva-Chuli, and Gangapurna which is certainly a rewarding experience.

The vegetation disappears from here onwards on our way to Annapurna Base Camp, on entering the beautiful sanctuary. The walking path widens around this wonderful plateau the Annapurna Sanctuary. From here, we get sensational views of the near-vertical south East Face of Annapurna I that towers above us. The Sanctuary boasts with a dynamic view without anything impeding the 360-degree panorama. From the base camp, we again get to savour mesmerizing views of the Machhapuchare, Annapurna South, Annapurna-I, Hiunchuli, and many other peaks.

From the Annapurna base camp, we retrace our steps to Bamboo. The day trek on the downhill, so it shouldn’t be very difficult. Besides, we will always have the company of the extraordinary landscape to cheer us up. From Bamboo, an uphill to Kuldighar, followed by a downhill to Chomrong Khola. Then climb the stone steps to Chomrong, where the walk leads to descend reaching at the lovely village at Jhinu Danda. Best Time for Annapurna Base Camp Trek

For the Annapurna Base Camp Trek, Spring (March, April, May) and Autumn (September, October, and November) are the best months. The air, freshly washed by the monsoon rain, is crystal clear, with stunning mountain scenery, and the weather is still comfortably warm.

Although Annapurna Base Camp Trek can be taken during winter and monsoon too, but the cold can be bitter and dangerous at the high altitudes, and trekking trails above 3500 meters are usually blocked by heavy snowfall. And the trails can be slippery due to the monsoon rain, Nepal’s famous Juka (leeches) is an unpleasant feature of the wet season, but with care, trekking can still be possible and there are certainly fewer trekkers on the trail.
