Here’s an insight into what each season has to offer so you’ll be able to plan out your trip according to your taste. Take a general look at what each season offers to help understand when to actually plan your trip.

Spring (March to May):

Many travelers like this period. From the mountains, blazing blooms of rhododendrons block their view, and the season promises agreeable weather. Spring is replete with festivals, among them the popular Paro Tsechu.

Autumn (September to November):

In autumn, you’ll experience lovely, clear, sunny days that offer absolutely stunning mountain views. Take pleasure in the peaceful trekking trails and unwind at festivities such as entertaining Thimphu Tsechu during this time.

Summer (June to August):

Because of the monsoon season, this time is likely to experience some rain. The sunshine may or may not reach you, but you get the fresh green landscapes and smaller crowds. It would be cheaper for you to do so as well.

Winter (December to February):

Such scenic beauty of snow-covered landscapes and days lying in the mountains in silence is what you love; then winter is the right time to visit. Although many areas are quite cold, Punakha has a comfortable climate and is well worth a visit.

Your trip starts with a great arrival at Paro International Airport. Looking at the Himalayas spreading beneath you as you fly up in the air is absolutely spectacular. Your flight journey will usually be under Druk Air or Bhutan Airlines.

Private Vehicles on Tour

In most tours, you’ll be traveling in a private car with a driver and a guide to show you the way. This makes it very easy and sleek to travel from Bhutan’s primary towns and iconic places. The tour cars make it easy for you to get around the scenic and sometimes narrow mountain roads.

Hiking to Sites

In places like Tiger’s Nest Monastery, hikers have a choice between hiking the trails or hiring ponies to help with baggage. Homestays in Bhutan’s untamed realms are going to see you in awe-inspiring splendor.

Public Transport

You don’t have to use public transportation as we will arrange your private transportation for your convenience.

Heads up: Bhutan’s roads are generally good, but when traveling through high-altitude areas, you will need to navigate curves and narrow roads.

Major Festivals Dates In Bhutan That You Must Know

The world knows Bhutan’s vibrant Tsechu festivals well. They are alive before God’s people; they have masked presentations; there is pulsating music; there are profound, holy significances. But for them, there are a few of the most spectacular celebrations that you simply won’t want to miss :

Paro Tsechu (March/April)

Punakha Drubchen (February/March)

The festival brilliantly portrays a major battle fought by the Bhutanese warriors in the 17th century. You will be exposed to historic events and cultural practices together.

Jambay Lhakhang Drup (October/November)

This festival boasts of both incredible fire and unclothed dance acts and it’s a mix of distinctiveness and reverence celebrated at Bumthang’s ancient temple.

Haa Summer Festival (July)

The event is slightly untraditional, but it is designed to draw attention to Bhutan’s yak-herding past. Savour the local foods, witness the colorful dances and hear about the local culture, all in an environment of Haa Valley’s stunning appearance.

Pro Tip: Plan to be in the place when a festival is held. This is an amazing chance to sit in Bhutan’s vibrant culture.
