Your journey begins with a smooth, little slope. On the trek further down, close to Upper Pisang, you will come across a suspension bridge, and you will see prayer flags flying high in the breeze.
Carrying on in the same direction, the trail presents another mani wall before it traverses a suspension bridge and enters up a steep climb with sharp zigzags through the mountainside.
This difficult part comprises close to thirty switchbacks and it takes over an hour to ascend the slope even with numerous stops.
At last, the ascend continues and you will be able to see the electric wires which connect this village with the outer world. Ghyaru is at an altitude of 3730 meters and will offer spectacular panoramic views of Annapurna II, IV, and III.
Beautiful houses of stones with flat-roof typical of this region is the perfect place to rest and regain strength after climbing 1000 vertical meters along the direct climb to Manang.
There are some breath-taking views of this village namely Ghyaru that nothing in wording can unpack in a single lens of a camera.
Now, we are on our way towards Ngawal from Ghyaru. The first part of the hiking leads to an elevation of more than 4000 meters above the sea level.
Drink water frequently and it is also recommended to look out for tendencies of developing altitude sickness. And then the inclined trail starts with some descent until we arrive in the village of Ngawal for the night.
It is an interesting-appearing village that will amaze and delight with the presence of numerous large-sized houses, including lodges.
After that, we descend and have a short tea break in a charming gompa in the middle of the village.

Today the trekking starts by walking towards Humde (3330m). As we leave Ngawal there is a steep way down and within a few minutes we are already on the valley floor, the scenery changes drastically.
In Ngawal, the vegetation was quite limited, with only a few bushes and grassy fields. Surprisingly, in Humde we can visit the airport but now it is closed to use.
From Humde, we then proceed upwards to the town of Braka. There are other significant benefits, and, in particular, the trail leads you out to the main road.
One can note that it is even more convenient to walk here than uphill and downhill are more challenging.
Further, near the village is the noteworthy Ice Lake (Kicho Tal) which enhanced the geographical aspect.
The walk from Braka to Manang is quite delightful, walking side the road with splendid valley view all around. Mountains reaching high up to the sky, snowy hills, and the grazing yak’s pasturing fields bring liveliness to the Annapurna Circuit.
When we see the welcome sign we know that we have arrived at Manang. It is a lively place for tourists and local people and it is filled with large hotels and guest houses.

The walking from Manang to Tilicho Base Camp is an attractive route passing through different terrains but comparatively very tough.
You begin trekking from Manang village following southwest of the Marsyangdi River through lovely farmlands and picturesque villages like Tare Gumba.
On approaching Khangsar at an elevation of 12,200 feet, there is a change in the vegetative cover from trees to rocks and a few plants which is an excellent preparation for the head and body to adapt to the thin air.
From Khangsar, you proceed to Siri Kharka at an altitude of 4,060m and, from this point, you have absolutely stunning views of the great heights of the Annapurna range.
The incline is gradual and not excessive at any point in the stair-steps. From Siri Kharka the trail becomes a little challenging because one has to cross moraines and valleys which are filled with loose rocks and scree.
The final part of the trek to Tilicho Base Camp is even steeper and the traverse contains many rocks and stones.
It involves balancing and taking time as one approaches the beautiful turquoise water that characterizes Tilicho Lake being one of the highest-altitude lakes on the globe.
Note: Trekkers need to be extremely careful while walking on this landslide route, especially during the monsoon season from June to September when heavy rains can make the slopes unstable.
It’s important to listen to local guides and updates from trekking groups about the trail conditions and safety tips to ensure a safe and enjoyable journey.

Tilicho Lake is popular worldwide for its beauty and it was once known as Nepal’s highest lake.
The trail to Tilicho Lake takes you through rough and rocky terrain, with steep climbs and challenging paths. As you ascend towards the lake at 4,919 meters (16,138 feet), the air gets thinner, so it’s crucial to maintain a steady pace to avoid altitude sickness.
Along the way, you’ll be treated to amazing views of towering mountains and glaciers, creating a truly awe-inspiring atmosphere.
Upon reaching Tilicho Lake, the sight is nothing short of breathtaking. The turquoise waters shimmer against the backdrop of majestic peaks, including the imposing Great Barrier.
This glacial lake holds deep cultural significance for locals and is a spiritual highlight for trekkers on the Annapurna Circuit.
After immersing yourself in the tranquility and beauty of Tilicho Lake, the return journey back to Siri Kharka retraces the same path.

As we take our breakfast and enjoy our cup of tea at the tea house we will get ready to leave Siri Kharka early in the morning.
The day starts off with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains from Siri Kharka which proves to be a good start to the day of trekking.
The trail starts off rough and rocky and requires caution, especially with our feet as we slowly begin our descent toward the lower area.
Crossing through upland meadows with rare places for pasturing, we drive through the area of junipers, which completes the picture of the surrounding landscape.
Sometimes you come across several small streams and strong bridges and the sound of waterfalls and green trees accompany you.
The last of the stopovers is Yak Kharka which is located at 4050 meters and this comes after 3-4 hours of trekking.
The scenery is stunning, and after walking a few miles, this picturesque village greets us with stone houses and terraced fields with marvelous views of high peaks.
Here we can relax, adapt to the altitude, and get ourselves ready for what we are about to encounter during the Annapurna Circuit treks.

Guest HouseDay 10: Trek to Thorang Phedi
Trekking today has just two choices. You can decide to make it a short day and walk up to Thorong Phedi ( 4450m) or carry on to High Camp (4880m).
It is not how far apart these two are – they are barely a kilometer and a kilometer and a half apart from each other. 5 hrs walking – but what has to be considered is altitude.
We will start the trekking in the morning after having breakfast because the weather condition changes so fast in the afternoon. Your trekking journey begins from Yak Kharka where you take the for the treacherous Pass and Kibber village.
The hike will begin on relatively flat meadows with stunning views of mountains nearby. It will take a few hours to walk gently on gradual hills to reach Churi Ledar.

Guest HouseDay 11: Trek to Muktinath Via Thorong La Pass ( 5,416m)
Today is a remarkable point in our trail as it consists of crossing the Thorung La high pass (5,416m/17,756ft) from Thorong Phedi (4,525m/14,525ft) and reaching Muktinath Temple (3,760m/12,623ft).
The last day stop-over is at Thorong La Pass which goes by its nickname, ‘the highest pass in the world’ and thus requires an early morning cross through the icy air on the higher altitude.
The strenuous ascent rewards us with breathtaking vistas: to the north with the line up of giant Himal, including the mighty Mount Kailash of Tibet, and lying behind us are the Annapurnas.
Then again after enjoying such breathtaking sights, we move downwards to a Religious valley called Muktinath both Hindus and Buddhists believe.
Hindus call it Muktikshetra, while Buddhists know it as Chumig Gyatsa, which means Hundred Waters in the Tibetan language because of the 108 stone spouts that are said to provide water from the river Kaligandaki all the time.
Muktinath temple is another revered shrine also providing an opportunity to witness an eternally burning flame that has been lit for more than two thousand years making the place spiritually significant among the pilgrimage destinations.

The hotel lodge or guest house is called a tea house here which provides the facilities and accommodation to the tourists. On the route of the Annapurna circuit trek, various types of tea houses are available for tourists from basic to advanced.
Tea houses are popular stops for staying overnight and enjoying meals. They are typically family-run businesses. Inside, you’ll find small rooms furnished with chairs, tables, and wooden beds with mattresses, pillows, and blankets. At higher altitudes, single rooms are arranged to accommodate 5-6 people comfortably, creating a cozy atmosphere.
Normally, squat-type toilets are common and shared among travelers. Inside, you’ll typically find a tap and a water bucket. Therefore, we suggest trekkers bring their toilet paper.
In some places, you can get a single room with an attached bathroom, especially in the lower altitude. But for this, it will cost you an extra price and you need to tell us in advance for booking. For a normal room, the cost will be included in the package.
Food Available in Annapurna Circuit Trek & Tilicho Lake Trek
Almost all the tea houses that you can find on the trekking routes will provide you with a food facility. At lower altitudes, you can find a wide variety of menu options. As you ascend to higher altitudes, the food variety and service become more limited.
The cost of food items in the mountain region is more expensive than in city areas due to the lack of transportation facilities, necessitating items to be carried by porters, yaks, or mules.
There will be an open dining for the trekkers where trekkers will stay and eat with other fellow trekkers. During the peak time, the tea house might be packed and it’s difficult to get the proper service in time so you need to be patient with meal times and arrangements.
Here are basic common foods that you can expect on the trekking trail of the Annapurna circuit trek;
Breakfast: Breakfast is a great way to fuel your body before you start your trekking journey. Breakfast in the tea house is served in the morning between 7:00 am to 9:00 am.
