This unforgettable journey in Tibet gives opportunities for travellers to immerse in ancient preserved Tibetan culture, tradition, lifestyle, and warm hospitality from Tibetan people.
As we begin our high-altitude adventure from Lhasa, the heart of Tibet, this tour takes you to the stunning landscapes and untouched areas. The journey is full of adventure with deep meaning of spiritual experience.
Compared to the Everest Base Camp Trek from Nepal and the Hike to Everest Base Camp from Tibet is completely different. You can reach the Everest base camp from Lhasa by driving on the route of Lhasa to Gyantse, then to Qomolangma National Park to Rongbuk Monastreay near Everest Base Camp (EBC). Visitors without prior experience trekking at high altitudes can enjoy a panoramic view of snow-capped mountains with little effort.
You will get the opportunity to visit a numbers of Buddhist monasteries, lakes, and wildlife en route to Everest Base Camp. Although you can drive to the base camp, we advise you to enjoy a quick two to three-hour hike at the end to get a taste of hiking before you get to base camp.
Once you arrive at Base Camp, you can explore the majestic Himalayas at Gawu La Pass (5,198m), which offers a close-up view of Mt. Everest’s north face, as well as the beautiful highest mountain peaks, including Mt. Everest (8844.43m), Makalu (8,463m), L,hotse (8516m), Cho Oyu (8201m), and others.

After exploring from Everest Base Camp, we will continue our journey toward the holy lake Mansarovar before setting for Mount Kailash Kora. After exploring this beautiful holy lake, we will forward our journey toward Kailash Mountain for Kora. We start our 1st day of Kora by trekking to Diraphuk and passing through the challenging mountain pass, Dolma-La Pass (5,660m).
We will reach Mani Wall, which will be our last day of Kora. Then, leaving Tibet with last-minute shopping on Kyirung town, we will drive toward Kathmandu to conclude the Kailash Tour with Everest Base Camp.
This tour is different from the regular Kailash Mansarovar yatra as in this tour we will add the trip to the Everest base camp. Also, we will start our journey by taking a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa by flight. Experiencing the flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa is also another best part of this Kailash Tour.

Best Time for Kailash Manasarovar Lake Tour with Everest Base Camp & Lhasa
Kailash Manasarovar Lake Tour with Everest Base Camp & Lhasa can be done in the months of the Spring, Summer, and Autumn seasons. Winter is avoided for this tour due to extreme cold and freezing weather conditions.
Even Kailash Mansarovar is possible to do in spring, autumn, and summer. The best time considered for the Kailash Manasarovar Lake Tour with Everest Base Camp & Lhasa is from May to September.
Let’s know about each season so you can better understand which month to choose for the tour.
- Late May to Early June: The weather conditions in the Tibet region start to warm up in late May or early June. After the gradual rise in temperature, the daytime remains excellent for trekking the Kora or circumambulation. The day temperature is good for trekking, but during the night and early morning, the temperature can still be cold, so trekkers need to pack clothes and items to deal with cold temperatures. This month is considered the starting season for pilgrimage tours.
- June to August: June to August is an ideal time for the Kailash Mansarovar tour with the Everest base camp trek. Both day and night temperatures are warm, and trekking becomes easier. Due to the rain shadow effect, rainfall is minimal, with only occasional showers, primarily in July. This ensures a more comfortable and favourable trekking experience.

- September: Kailash Manasarovar Lake Tour with Everest Base Camp & Lhasa season comes to an end in September when the number of visitors gradually starts to decline. Until this month, the weather is good for trekking, with the remnants of the monsoon. But as September draws to a close, the weather begins to cool, indicating the arrival of winter. If you want to visit the area before the winter months arrive, now is a good time to do it, when it’s quieter.
- October to January: From the start of October to January, it is considered as the off-season for the Kailash Mansarovar tour with Everest base camp. It is because during this month, the temperature remains below the freezing point, and heavy snowfall can disrupt trekking. The freezing temperature can be difficult to adapt to, and the chances of altitude sickness also remain high in this season. Therefore, we highly discourage you from doing the Kailash tour this month.

Barkhor Street: The oldest and most famous street in Lhasa is Barkhor walking street. Tibetan Buddhism believers began to turn around the Joknag monastery, and then slowly turned onto the road. It is a one-way road, and Buddhist pilgrims make clockwise to respect the temple according to their religion. Numerous stores selling Tibetan rugs, traditional attire, jewelry, religious objects, and other handicrafts can be found here.
Ramoche Temple: Another spiritual site that you will visit in Lhasa is Ramoche Temple. This temple is believed to be one of the oldest religious buildings in Lhasa. - Early morning spiritual visit to Mansarovar Lake
- Take a holy bath with sacred waters
- Visit Chu Monastery – one of the most important sacred monasteries in Tibet

Good To Know
Your journey of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra begins from the route of Nepal. First, you will land in Nepal and apply for the necessary permits and visa, then take a flight to Lhasa. Getting a Nepal tourist visa is easy: you can either apply online from your home country or obtain an on-arrival visa after arriving in Nepal.
The cost of the Nepal visa depends on the number of days you want to spend in Nepal. Since it takes 18 days to conclude the Kailash Yatra with EBC tour, we suggest you obtain a 30-day Nepal tourist visa. For a 30-day Nepal tourist visa, you need to pay USD 50.
Note: For Indian Citizens, you can enter Nepal without needing a visa after you submit your legal ID or Indian passport.
All travelers who want to enter Tibet for the Kailash Pilgrimage Yatra must obtain the permit and visa with the help of a tour agency. Travelling solo is not permitted, and there will be guided tours with fixed itinerary plans.
