- Ascend Gradually: Walk at your own pace and once you reach above 3,000 meter allow your body time to adjust to higher altitudes.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water(2-3 liters) throughout the day.
- Rest Days: Include rest days in your itinerary to acclimatize.
- Symptoms: Be aware and monitor the altitude sickness symptoms, such as headaches and nausea, and descend if they persist.
- Diamox: Take altitude sickness medicine before a Lukla flight and during the trek, as advised by your doctor.
What to do if you catch altitude sickness during a trek:
- Don’t panic, take a rest and descend to a lower altitude.
- If symptoms worsen, request an immediate helicopter evacuation.
- Never ignore the early symptoms of AMS; if it turns into HACE or HAPE, it can be life-threatening.
Staying connected during the trek can be challenging, but it is possible in many areas:

There is no exact percentage of the amount you must tip. You can tip as much as you want. If you ask us, how much should you tip? We recommend tipping around 10-15% of the total cost to your guide and porter.
