Six More 8000ers Peak Added in Nepal: Bringing the Official Total to 14

Six More 8000ers Peak Added in Nepal. Previously, Nepal had eight globally recognized peaks above 8,000 meters, including Everest (8,848.86 meters), Kanchenjunga (8,586 meters), Lhotse (8,516 meters), Makalu (8,485 meters), Cho Oyu (8,188 meters), Dhaulagiri (8,167 meters), Manaslu (8,163 meters), and Annapurna I (8,091 meters). However, the government of Nepal has now officially expanded the list of 8,000-meter peaks from 8 to 14.
4 eight thousander peaks are added from the Kanchanjunga Range which are Yalung Khang (8,505 meters), Yalung Khang West (8,077 meters), Kanchenjunga Central (8,473 meters), and Kanchanjunga South (8,476 meters). Previously only the Kanchenjunga (8,586 meters) is considered as the 8,000 peak.
2 new eight- thousander peaks are added from the Lhotse Range which are Lhotse Middle (8,413 meters) and Lhotse Shar (8,400 meters). Previously Lhotse (8,516 metres) was only considered as the 8,000-peak.
All the paperwork and official documents are ready for the updated list and once the government of Nepal approves from the cabinet this document will be forwarded to the International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (UIAA). Once the UIAA approves it will be recognized globally.
Nepal Mountaineering Association of Nepal claims that adding the six new 8,000 peaks to the list of Nepal will surely help to boost the economic and tourist sector in Nepal.
