For the short 5 Days Langtang Valley trek, you don’t need to pack much as you will find most of the essential things in the tea house( mountain lodge). Tekkers should focus on packing the right clothing items so that they will help them to stay safe and warm. Your packing list also depends on which season you choose for the trek. For spring and autumn, you can pack normal clothing items, but for the winter and monsoon, you need to pack more clothing and protective gear items.
Syabrubesi will be your main starting point for trekking on this 5 Days Langtang Valley trek. To reach Syabrubesi, you can find various modes of road transportation, as there is no flight to reach here. Since local buses take around 8–10 hours to reach Syabrubesi, starting your trek on the same day is not possible if you travel by bus. So you must rent a jeep or take a shared jeep for this short Langtang trek.

Here is a day-by-day trekking itinerary of the Days Langtang Valley trek with highlights of each day and informative guides.

You will start your Langtang Valley trek early in the morning to reach Syabrubesi on time. Make sure to check the departure time of the bus or jeep in advance and plan your journey accordingly, arriving at least 30 minutes early to avoid any last-minute delays. Ride for around 5-6 hours.
The drive takes you along the Trishuli River, and stops for breakfast or tea at a roadside restaurant in Trishuli Bazaar or Dhunche. Enjoying the scenic landscapes, including terraced fields, lush green hills, and small villages, you will reach Syabrubesi after a 4-5-hour ride. While reaching near the Syabrubesi, you notice the terrain becoming more rugged, with glimpses of the Langtang Himal range in the Distance.
You will reach Syabrubesi at Midday and rest for a while for a short lunch break. A huge number of trekkers stay in this place as it is the starting point of treks like the Tamang Heritage Trail and the Langtang Gosainkunda Trek.
Then from Syabrubesi you will start your first trek, which will be 4-5 hours depending upon your pace. You will start your trek by crossing a suspension bridge over the Bhote Koshi River.
The trail ascends gradually through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and Bamboo.
You’ll follow the Langtang Khola (river), with its soothing sound accompanying you along the way.
Passing through small settlements like Domen and Pairo (Landslide), you will reach Bamboo (1,970m), a small settlement with a few teahouses, or continue another 30-45 minutes uphill to Rimche (2,400m) if you have the energy.
You will check into a tea house in Bamboo or Rimche, depending on where you decide to stop for the night. For dinner, you can choose a variety of traditional Nepali meals such as dal bhat, noodles, or soup.


Today is the second day of your 5 Days Langtang Valley trek. You will start your day with hot tea or coffee in the tea house while enjoying cool morning air. Then, after having breakfast, you will start to prepare for today’s trek. Leaving Bamboo/Rimche, you will start your walk passing through dense forests of oak, rhododendron, and pine, with occasional clearings offering stunning views of the surrounding hills and mountains.
Then crossing several suspension bridges over the Langtang Khola (river), which flows alongside the trail. Then, after a few hours, you will see the famous Lama Hotel(2,470m), a popular stop for trekkers. You will enjoy your short tea or snack break here and then rest for a while.
After Lama Hotel, the trail becomes steeper as you ascend toward Ghodatabela. You will stop here for lunch and enjoy the breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m) and other snow-capped mountains. There’s a small army checkpoint where your permits may be checked again.
After Ghodatabela, the trail becomes more gradual, with a mix of ascents and flat sections.
The forest begins to thin out, giving way to alpine meadows and scattered yak pastures.
Pass through small settlements like Thangshyap (3,140m) and Chyamki (3,230m), where you can take short breaks and interact with locals. As you approach Langtang Village, you’ll notice the landscape becoming more rugged, with stunning views of the Langtang Himal range.

You will arrive in Langtang Village (3,430m), which is a traditional Tamang settlement that was rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake. Then you will check into a teahouse and enjoy a warm meal after a long day of trekking. In the evening, don’t forget to enjoy the stunning views of Langtang Lirung and the surrounding peaks as the sun sets.

Today is another exciting day of the 5 Days Langtang Valley trek. Today’s trek hour is short, but there will be significant elevation gain. Early in the morning, after having breakfast at the tea house of Langtang village, you will start your trekking journey.
The trail ascends gradually, passing through yak pastures, stone-built houses, and small streams. The landscape becomes more open and alpine, with fewer trees and more expansive views of the surrounding peaks. Cross small wooden bridges and follow the Langtang Khola as it winds through the valley.
In the Midday, you will arrive at Kyanjin Gompa, which is also called the heart of the Langtang Valley.

After dinner, you will rest and relax at the tea house. Spending the night in the peaceful atmosphere of Kyanjin Gompa, surrounded by the majestic Himalayas, is truly amazing.

Today will be your most adventurous day on this 5-day Langtang Valley trek. With the excitement of reaching Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri, you will start to leave early in the morning after breakfast in the tea house. Depending upon your physical conditions, you can choose either hthe ike to Kyanjin Ri or Tserko.
Kyanjin Ri: The hike from Kyanjin Gompa to Kyanjin Ri is around 2.5 to 3 kilometers (1.6 to 1.9 miles) one way. The round-trip distance is roughly 5 to 6 kilometers (3.1 to 3.7 miles). The whole hike, including going up and down, usually takes 3 to 5 hours.

Tserko Ri: A full day of hiking is required to go from Kyanjin Gompa to Tserko Ri, which is around 10 kilometers round trip with an elevation gain of more than 800 meters. Usually, it takes five to seven hours.

Today will be your last day of trekking in the Langtang Region. After having breakfast early in the morning, you will start to trek from Rimche Danda to Syabrubesi. Today, you will walk downhill, following the same trail you took during the ascent.
Once you reach Syabrubesi, you will enjoy your lunch and prepare to leave for Kathmandu. Riding for 4-5 hours, you will reach Kathmandu.
Altitude sickness is also called high altitude sickness, which happens due to low levels of oxygen in the air, normally above 3,000 – 3,500m. Although this does not happen to everyone while walking at high altitude, this can happen to anyone anytime at high altitude. Wifi: Almost all the tea houses provide wifi facilities to the trekkers while staying in a tea house. This wifi is a reliable option to use the internet. During the trek, you can use the local SIM (Ncell or NTC) for international roaming or using mobile internet.
Electricity: All the teahouses have proper electricity, either from the main power line or solar panels. You can charge your electronic device, like a mobile, camera battery, etc, here, but you might need some extra bucks for this. It might cost you around USD 1-2 per hour.
